Sara Halverson lives in Missouri on the family farm, nurturing sustainability in her community by gardening and selling her produce locally. She first visited Churchill in 2008 as an Field Ambassador while working as a zookeeper in Minnesota. The FA program teaches her about polar bears, allowing her to share her knowledge with zoo visitors and her community in the interest of conservation. She and her husband are building an energy-efficient home using recycled and renewable resources. While no longer a zookeeper, Sara cares for cows, chickens, dogs, and cats while working on the farm and for a vet clinic.
