René Malenfant is an instructor in the Department of Biology at the University of New Brunswick, Canada. He completed his Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta, Canada, working under Drs. Corey Davis and David Coltman. He has undergraduate honors degrees in computing science from St. Francis Xavier University and in evolutionary biology from the University of Alberta. Currently, he is working in collaboration with researchers at Environment and Climate Change Canada to investigate polar bear population structure and the genetic architecture of body size of polar bears.
