Mike Lockhart is a retired U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologist with a 33-year career working on birds of prey, resource development and wildlife conflicts, national refuge management, and endangered species recovery.
For the last eight years of his career, he served as the Recovery Coordinator for international efforts to restore wild populations of the endangered black-footed ferret across the western U.S. and portions of Canada and Mexico.
Mike also provided assistance for polar bear capture and satellite telemetry studies over 11 different field seasons on the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas, Alaska.
Mike lives in Laramie, Wyoming, and, as an independent consultant, now works on a variety of projects investigating wind energy and petroleum extraction effects on wildlife, particularly golden eagles and other raptor species.
