Kieran Mulvaney is the author of The Great White Bear: A Natural and Unnatural History of the Polar Bear and The Whaling Season: The Inside Story of the Struggle to Stop Commercial Whaling, among other books.
His has written for a wide range of publications including The Guardian, New Scientist, New Internationalist, The Sunday Times Magazine, BBC Wildlife and E Magazine. He blogs for Discovery Channel News, is a contributor to the Washington Post Magazine, was until recently a correspondent for ESPN and is presently a freelance correspondent for HBO. He is a consultant to a number of environmental organizations, and was previously an oceans campaigner for Greenpeace and the co-founder of the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society.
Born in England, he lived for eight years in a cabin in Alaska and presently makes his home in Vermont.
