Julene Reed is an educator with twenty–five years of experience as a classroom teacher, technology integration specialist, and administrator and is currently completing her doctorate on global leadership in education with a focus on technology implementations and integration. She also holds a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction as well as a B.S. in Elementary Education. She is an Apple Distinguished Educator, Google for Education Certified Trainer and Innovator, Google Geo Teacher Advisory Board member, Microsoft Innovative Educator Certified Trainer, education author, and international consultant and presenter.
Julene has traveled globally through her work as an Advisory Council member of Dr. Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots and the director of Polar Bear’s International’s Tundra Connections program. She travels to Churchill, Canada annually to observe polar bears in the wild and conduct live educational videoconferences and webcasts with scientists. Julene has developed mini–courses on polar bears, the Arctic, and climate change and was instrumental in the launch of PBI’s iTunes U channel. Her passion to make a difference in the world through education and technology are clearly evident in her work.
