Gerrit Wesselink is the Executive Director of the Youth Arctic Coalition, and is in his third year studying Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Ottawa.
Originally from Thunder Bay, Gerrit is passionate about Arctic Affairs and Youth Engagement. Gerrit’s budding career in youth engagement and in the not-for-profit sector has allowed him to work with young people in over 15 countries, growing projects that have engaged almost 100,000 youth worldwide. He continues to encourage young people to find their voice, and to become positive change makers in their communities.
Gerrit has attended various international conferences on behalf of YAC, including the United Nation’s COP Climate Conferences, and the annual Arctic Circle Conference in Reykjavik. This is Gerrit’s first Tundra Connections, and he is looking forward to all the weeks to come!
