Daniel graduated with an undergraduate in zoology from the University of Guelph. He is currently working in Churchill, Manitoba at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre and just finishing a joint internship with the Assiniboine Park Zoo, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In Churchill he is involved in several research/education projects, such as winter ecology in stickleback fish, tree swallow nest monitoring, wetland ecology, marine education, and others. His work includes managing volunteers to collect data and help with lab work, as well as educating guests and visitors of the centre about current research and natural history. In Winnipeg under the direction of the research staff at the zoo, he is in charge of a polar bear thermal imaging project to study bears in the zoo and in the wild.
