Marissa Krouse Headshot 2026

Marissa Krouse

Director of Conservation Programs

Marissa has a B.A. in psychology with a focus in animal behavior and has worked in polar bear conservation for 20 years now. Her role at PBI provides leadership in Conservation Programs - coordinating our Arctic Ambassador Center Network and Climate Alliance Program, overseeing education and outreach efforts, and working to provide youth with opportunities to meaningfully contribute to PBI’s vision of a future where polar bears thrive on the Arctic sea ice they depend on. Marissa values the opportunity to work closely with our research team to build capacity for zoos and aquariums participating in scientific research that will help protect the world’s polar bears. She is a motivated conservationist who values teamwork and is dedicated to weaving networks with similar conservation goals, helping others to lead their communities. When Marissa is not at work you will likely find her traveling, chasing down a favorite band, and laughing with friends.
