Annie Edwards

Annie holds an MSc in Marine Systems and Policies from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. She has worked with Polar Bears International since 2019 in various capacities across science communications and community engagement, including as a Field Ambassador, leading Polar Bears International’s public relations on behalf of Fabric Media, and supporting its coexistence program by coordinating the Polar Bear Safe Community Exchanges.

Annie brings a decade of experience, including working as a research assistant on the Cultural Heritage Framework Programme (the only UN Ocean Decade-endorsed programme focused on integrating cultural heritage into ocean science), leading partnerships for SeaVoice Magazine (an ethical ocean storytelling publication), and conducting socio-ecological research on co-managed marine protection in Scotland and Spain. Annie is based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and currently serves on the strategic communications advisory board of the UN Ocean Decade.
