Liz Flaherty

Dr. Liz Flaherty is a wildlife ecologist at the University of Wyoming. Her research focuses on understanding and investigating wildlife associations with habitat and responses to habitat fragmentation. Specifically, her research focuses on the impacts of habitat management strategies and climate change on wildlife populations, using stable isotopes to investigate resource use across a fragmented landscape and the energetic costs of locomotion. Liz also studies how informal science experiences, such as participation in field research, affect nonscientists’ critical thinking skills, understanding of scientific concepts, and science attitudes.
