Hank Harlow

Dr. Harlow is a physiological ecologist who studies how animals adjust to stressful environments such as cold and hot temperatures, food scarcity and human disturbances. He has worked on energy and spatial needs of a large range of animals from Komodo dragons and polar bears to pigmy rabbits and ground squirrels. Dr. Harlow’s special interests presently focus on the interaction of renal, digestive, and cardiovascular systems to conserve skeletal muscle protein and strength by animals exposed to long periods of food deprivation.
