Democrats Clock All-Nighter with Climate Talk

Immediately following votes yesterday evening Senators from the Senate Climate Action Task Force held the Senate floor to urge action on climate change. A significant number of Senators participated throughout the night.

Democratic senators clocked an all-nighter, working in shifts into Tuesday morning to warn of devastation from climate change and the danger of inaction.

Senator Barbara Boxer (D - California) said: "So many Senators coming together for an all-night session shows our commitment to wake up Congress to the dangers of climate change. All you have to do is look at China to see what happens to your country when you throw the environment under the bus."

The talk-a-thon ended at 8:55 a.m., almost 15 hours after it began. It was the 35th all-night session since 1915, according to the Senate.
