Be Cool for Polar Bears

PBI launched its spring outreach tour on polar bears, climate change, and how each of us can help in Portland, Oregon, Monday at the Oregon Zoo. The first day of the zoo's Be Cool event featured students who have developed community projects relating to climate change. The day also included special enrichment for the zoo's polar bears and an appearance by the zoo's costumed polar bear mascot.

The Be Cool awareness event will continue tonight with a presentation at the zoo by Dr. Steven C. Amstrup, PBI's senior scientist, titled "Polar Bears in Warming World: There is Still Time to Save Them." For tickets, visit the zoo's events page.
