Wednesday Shout Outs, September 11, 2013 {Harley Merrigan}

It's time for our (mostly) weekly shout-outs.

On Wednesdays we feature individuals and groups who are working hard to fight climate change and save polar bears. We celebrate people determined to help change the world through their actions and can-do attitudes.

Last weekend, Harley Merrigan of the Polar Bear Blog completed the London Half Marathon (Run to the Beat). If running 13.1 miles isn't impressive enough, she also raised $500 for PBI.

Harley wrote, "I did it! I completed the half marathon in three hours and eight minutes! I didn't think it was that bad apart from the last part up Greenwich Park Hill!! I can no longer walk but well worth it!

"To those who came and supported me and those who have sponsored me thank you soooooo much!"

We've been impressed with Harley's dedication to polar bears and inspired by the photos she posts on her blog. Now she is putting her money where her mouth is (and working hard to earn it!).

A big thank you and huge bear hugs to Harley!

If you'd like to support PBI with a fundraiser, but don't necessarily want to run 13.1 miles to do it, we have some other ideas for you! And we always encourage you to take action at a personal level.
