Wednesday Shout Out {Pennies for Polar Bears}

A big shout out to students, teachers, and mentors in Hermitage, Pennsylvania! This group of K- 5 students used their Pennies for the Planet campaign to raise money to support PBI's work for polar bears.

And a little extra shout out to the students in the school who participated in Project Polar Bear this year. The Hermitage Middle School Green Team focused on saving energy.

From the Hermitage School District press release:

Artman and Ionta Elementary students in Grades Kindergarten through Grade 5 collected $1,542.16 through the Pennies for the Planet campaign during Earth Week in April.

This year the money will be donated to Polar Bears International to help protect polar bear habitat.

Pennies for the Planet started to let kids know they could make a difference by collecting, saving, and sending in pennies for national conservation projects and by taking part in conservation action projects in their own communities.

The Hermitage students studied Arctic animals during Earth Week and learned how they can help save the polar bears by turning off the lights when they leave the room.

Thanks for all your good work for polar bears!
