Wednesday Shout Out: myActions

Join us in a big hurrah for a new crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo designed to empower kids to help stop climate change. The campaign was launched by myActions, a social enterprise focused on driving long-term environmental behavior change.

The campaign set a goal of $100,000 to fund a pilot program to provide in-classroom tablets and RFID bracelets to school children so they can share their green actions and see the impact.

And, wow, within just one week they exceeded that goal, with the total amount raised $100,619 at this writing! That means that the project is a GO, and for every additional dollar raised, myActions can provide a bracelet for another child.

Cooler still: the concept for myActions was started by one of our Project Polar Bear contestants, Michael Young, as his team's contest entry. We love that he's gone on to do great things, motivating change and providing hope for a sustainable future.

You can learn more about the campaign on the IndieGoGo website.

Way to go myActions!
