Earth Day with Polar Bears

Earth Day with Polar Bears

It’s spring in the Northern Hemisphere, a season of hope and renewal. This year is also the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, on April 22nd, a time when we reflect on the beauty of the natural world and embrace our role as stewards of this remarkable planet.

This year’s theme is climate action, and we invite you to join hands with us—virtually—as we focus on rebuilding a future that sustains us all.

The current crisis has shown how connected we are—from polar bears and the Arctic to other wildlife and people around the globe. By joining hands and working collaboratively, we can conserve the wild places that inspire us and ignite our sense of wonder, leaving a legacy for generations to come.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Meet our team. We’ve partnered with Discovery Education and the Columbus Zoo on some Tundra Connections webcasts and live chats. Start your day by having Breakfast with Polar Bear Cubs through our Ouwehand Cam, then join live webcasts to learn about the bears and actions you can take—and ask questions! See the schedule here.
  • Vote for polar bears. One of the most important things you can do is to vote with the climate in mind. Take our “Vote for Polar Bears” pledge and receive a link for a downloadable “Vote for Polar Bears” poster.
  • Speak up for climate action. Let your leaders know you care about this issue—and that you support programs that address the climate crisis. Our Climate Action postcards make it easy to reach out.
  • Support our work. By making a donation or an eco-adoption, you'll support our efforts on behalf of the world’s polar bears—and help ensure their future.

Thank you for caring about polar bears, for caring about the Arctic, and for working with us to choose a path forward that leads to the future we want.
