Since I was a kid, I have loved polar bears—ever since I started hearing stories about my dad's three years in Churchill, Manitoba as a young boy. I was fascinated with the thought of a 'far-off' place in my own country, cold and ice-covered, that was somehow full of life, and where there lived a special white bear.

As I got more involved in conservation, I discovered Polar Bears International and became a donor because of their sole focus on protecting polar bears. I know that my monthly support makes a difference to their work, and I'm happy to help ensure a future for polar bears and their Arctic home.

I have a deep passion and love for animals, and in particular, bears. As a Canadian, our vast wilderness is known around the world, and I believe that nature nurtures us. Can you imagine a world without Polar bears? Neither can I, and that is why I choose to donate monthly to Polar Bears International.

I want to make a difference and be part of the solution for our great white bears in the Arctic. Polar Bears International is knowledge and science-based, and I love that I continuously become more educated with regards to the bears through their website, which is highly engaging.

I appreciate the fact that they have various partnerships with other conservation groups. And with Polar Bears International being transparent, I feel very confident knowing where my donation is going.

I have had a lifelong interest in polar bears since seeing my grandfather’s photographs of the Hudson Bay area in the 1930’s and 40’s. As I learned more about polar bears, that interest just increased. A life thrill for me was seeing a mother polar bear and her three cubs while dog sledding in Nunavut some twenty years ago.

I give to Polar Bear International because I want to support the scientific research, they do to learn more about polar bears and support their survival in this time of climate change.
