Putt for Polar Bears

Don't you love the name? For three years now, a group of dedicated volunteers with the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium have raised funds for PBI by holding a miniature golf event called Putt for Polar Bears. This year, donations totaled about $1,500, with 90% of it going to PBI and the remainder to the local American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) chapter.

PBI volunteer Alicia Shelley, right, hugging the bear, has helped organize the event for the past three years. Her 10-year-old son drew the design for the T-shirts, which the group sold to raise additional  funds.

Kudos also to Alicia's buddy, to her left, front, also with the Columbus Zoo, who came up with the idea and name for the event and has helped coordinate it for the past three years.

Special thanks to Galaxy Games and Golf, which donates 100% of their proceeds from mini golf on Putt for Polar Bears night to the event.
