Field Lectures

PBI provides, at no cost to tour operators, informal presentations by top zoologists. These zoologists go out into the field to give presentations on buggies. These lectures help visitors gain an understanding of the polar bear’s physical attributes as well as its role in the wild. We provide "touch and feel" tools such as a polar bear fur, replicas of a polar bear skull and claws, ear tags, and images. The more people learn about the importance of the polar bear and its environment, the better equipped they are to make a difference. Last year close to 4,000 visitors experienced the in-field lecture series.
